Week 13 : Crazy Ann Block - 10.5" unfinished
We've used foundation paper piecing method for the half rectangle triangles.
Week 14 : Farmers Daughter Block - 10.5" unfinished
Week 15 : Pinwheel Skew Block - 5.5" unfinished
The centre pieces were foundation paper pieced and these blocks had partial seams around the border.
Week 16 : Wandering Foot Block - 20.5" unfinished
I have run into a problem with piecing "Y" seams for this one. Even after numerous attempts and more unpicking, I wound up with stitches visible on the front and puckers in the corners! I'm thinking I just might unpicked them again and sew the "Y" seams by hand and I while I'm at it, I'd want to redo the curve piecing as the one on the left side of the block doesn't seem flat!
Hope you'll have a great week ahead and thanks for visiting!
Your blocks look great, all of them. I wouldn't worry too much about the "Wandering Foot". I'm sure once the quilt is together you can "outquilt" the problem area. I'm definitely not going to make this block; too much out of my league ;).
ReplyDeleteI love your crazy ann blocks. The stripes really add something to that block. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are so pretty! I am never consistent with Y seams. Sometimes I nail them and other times, not so good! I thought yours looked fine. I do think sewing by hand gives you more control. You're doing an awesome job, like you always do!!
ReplyDeleteAll the blocks are absolutely fantastic! I love them!
ReplyDeleteYou're so clever! I love your blocks, hey do you use a big shot at all? I had one for scarp booking but I bought a couple of quilting dies, I really want to try the apple core :)
ReplyDeleteAs always your blocks look fantastic :)
ReplyDeleteThis Blocks are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLiebe Grüße Grit
I love those Crazy Ann blocks. The wandering foot block I must say looks like a big challenge. I see what you mean about the side that isn't flat but would it be ok once it's quilted? I think you've done an awesome job!
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks FarahLin.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Roos
The Blocks are very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Sunday.
Best wishes Manuela
Oh my, partial and Y seams, not my favourites to do myself! So looking forward to seeing where you go with all these blocks :)
ReplyDeleteHello Farah,
ReplyDeleteYou are going so well with these blocks. I read somewhere if you use some ironing spray on the fabric it helps to stabilise the fabric more.
Happy days.

Love your Farmers daughter block and the other too! That last one- the wandering foot block just LOOKS hard! I totally understand about taking it apart and hand stitching, but really they all are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFabulous blocks Farah. Y seams really intimidate me. I can't wait to see your solution. By the way, it you hadn't said the problem you ran into I wouldn't been able to tell it looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteFabulous blocks
ReplyDeleteWell done.
They look fantastic Farah! I think Vreni is right, Wandering Foot will look fine once the quilt is together and quilted.
ReplyDeleteFarah, the blocks are amazing!
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks! Those Y seams are always pesky little buggers!
